Invention of PREFORMED™ products by electrical engineer Thomas F. Peterson and foundation of Preformed Line Products Company. The first products were: Armor Rods, GUY-GRIP® Dead-ends and ARMOR-GRIP® Suspensions.
1952
The PREFORMED™ Armor Rod, was patented.
1959
Subsidiary Preformed Line Products (GB) is established in Andover, Great Britain.
1960
A subsidiary is opened in Seville, Spain (initially under the name of Accesorios Preformados, S.A., and nowadays under the name of Apresa-PLP Spain, S.A.).
1962
0perations begin in Australia, first in Victoria Australia, then in Northmead (New South Wales) and nowadays in Sydney.
1967
A subsidiary is established in Sao Paulo (Brazil), where they still continue operating.
1968
The subsidiary Preformados de Mexico is established and begins their operations.
1970
A subsidiary is established in Pietermaritzburg (South Africa).
1974
The company opened its new world headquarters in Mayfield Village, Ohio, where it remains today.
1979
Research and Engineering facility was expanded. Built at the headquarters location, the facility continues to be one of the most sophisticated in the world.
1985
Manufacturing begins in the subsidiary in Canada, established in Cambridge (Ontario).
1995
Introduction of COYOTE® Closure, a high quality closure for fiber optic cables.
1996
Preformed Line Products secured ISO 9001 certification. A subsidiary is opened in Beijing (China).
1997
Commemoration of the first 50 years in PLP's history
2003
PLP starts operating in Russia through a Representative Office established in Moscow.
2004
Newest international subsidiary of Preformed Line Products in Thailand.
